National Knowledge Exchange Workshop on Rural Crime Prevention
The purpose of the workshop is to bring together practitioners, municipal staff, elected officials, and other representatives from rural communities across the country to discuss crime prevention efforts in the rural context. By seeking input directly from rural communities regarding successes, challenges, gaps, and needs, the workshop will contribute to the knowledge and capacity to address community safety in rural areas and to strengthen local community safety strategies by including a rural focus or lens. Participants will have opportunities to learn about national and international programs/initiatives and network with other practitioners to share learnings, challenges, and successes.

BUILDING SAFER COMMUNITIES TRAINING PART I: Community Safety & Well-Being
Planning Training
Join the Canadian Municipal Network on Crime Prevention (CMNCP) and partners for a virtual training session on crime prevention and community safety planning. To date, CMNCP has trained over 500 participants in 400 communities across Canada.
The training will provide participants with the necessary understanding, knowledge, and practice implications to prepare a community safety and well-being plan in collaboration with community partners that proactively addresses locally identified priority risks.
TRAINING DATES
The 12-hour virtual training will be delivered through three 4-hour sessions:
- September 12th 10 AM (PT) / 11 AM (MT) / 12 PM (CT) / 1 PM (ET) / 2 PM (AT)
- September 19th 10 AM (PT) / 11 AM (MT) / 12 PM (CT) / 1 PM (ET) / 2 PM (AT)
- September 26th 10 AM (PT) / 11 AM (MT) / 12 PM (CT) / 1 PM (ET) / 2 PM (AT)

- Single registration (1 participant): $300 per ticket
- Group registration (2 to 4 participants): $275 per ticket
